Karasu-Log is the result of me fleeing madly from LiveJournal. The integrated community idea is nice, but the implementations enslave your soul to internet based social drama.
It is my preference to have a feature forum where I can post personal reviews of things like movies, video games, or neat things I've seen, maybe rant a little about something in my life (not related to work or other professional matters), and post pictures of things that I find interesting, links, etc. You get the picture.

I wrote this site entirely on my own using PHP 4, MySQL, Apache and X11 forwarding so I can work in my prefered Linux environment even though I'm on a mac. As noted in the footer, the actual visual design is taken from a WordPress theme, but this is NOT a WordPress site (you can tell because I haven't done any RSS yet, have no idea how trackback works, and none of the other nifty features of a WP site). This is a showcase of my abilities, so potential employers, take note!
I am also the only developer behind Hi-Tech Trader Online, a forum style site for buying and selling HP and Compaq computer and test equipment. Again, I can't take original layout idea, but all of the backend implementation is my fault.
As of June 2006 I will be the proud owner of a BA from the University of Oregon's Linguistics department.
